Professional Development Q and A

How do I know what professional development opportunities are available to district staff members? Your building PD committee will notify you of in-district PD opportunities. Other opportunities will be with your professional organizations. Please ask your mentor if you need assistance in finding appropriate PD opportunities.

Are there any mandatory professional development requirements that staff members must fulfill each year? Yes, all staff members are required to complete Vector online training at the beginning of each year. Your building administrator and PD committee will communicate other requirements to you.

How is attendance and participation in professional development activities documented and tracked? Frontline

How does the district ensure that professional development activities align with the goals and priorities of the school community? All PD opportunities are linked to the CSIP priorities, found on the District website and in this document.

What support systems are in place for staff members who may require additional assistance or accommodations to participate in professional development activities? Administrators, Instructional Coaches, Mentors, and the PD committee members are all resources for supporting staff members' professional growth.
