Our Warrensburg FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Teams saw either their first or second competition for this season.
Team Serenity, a class team, is our only team to have been in two meets. The first meet they were undefeated and they had a repeat in this meet. They currently are the Number 1 seed in the Central MO League of 22 teams. While the robot was built by George Dietz and Mack Young, Mack has been driving solo and continues to improve as the season progresses. They have the maximum number of wins they can going into our League Tournament on February 1st, but their relative ranking can change based on how they compare with other competitors in sub areas.
On the other end of the spectrum, our other in class team, Team Rocinante, failed to secure a win on Saturday and are seeded 21/22 teams. They are a rookie team that finished their robot just last week and didn't get much practice. They have things they need to fix and then lots of practice with what should be a solid robot.
Towards the middle of the spectrum we have The Small Fries, our original after school team. They too finished their robot late last week and lacked practice time. They came away from Saturday 2-4-0 and are ranked 16/22. They have a solid robot that will take them places as they get more practiced.
Our next meet is at Warrensburg on January 11th. All 3 teams will be competing in the morning session, and Team Rocinante and The Small Fries will be competing in the afternoon session. Team Rocinante and The Small Fries still have the opportunity to improve to a perfect win/loss record as only the top 10 scores transfer to the League Tournament and both teams still have 12 matches left to develop that record!
Congratulations to all our competitors, they are doing a great job!
